The Education and Inspections Act received Royal Assent on 8 November 2006.
Some of the changes it made were with respect to behaviour in schools.
Teachers now have stronger powers to discipline pupils by:
- Using reasonable force.
- Confiscating equipment
Our teachers need to develop skills to use these increased powers effectively without escalating disruption.
