Raka Ghaderi Consulting - Founders Profile

Raka Ghaderi is the founder of Raka Ghaderi Consulting and a member of the General Teaching Council for England. She is the author of the highly acclaimed “ Supply Teacher’s Handbook” a comprehensive training manual on classroom management for supply teachers, which is specifically designed to empower secondary school teachers to wipe out classroom disruption and gain control in the classroom. Raka has also released a new book on Anger Management which can be purchased on this website.

As a supply teacher in some of the most challenging schools in Merseyside, Raka observed the classroom management methods used by leadership and heads of pupil referral units. Then by a system of trial and error she adapted these to her own teaching practice.

“When I made the switch from working permanently in one secondary school to supply teaching in many secondary schools, I found I had to change the way I taught to be effective. When I sat down and analysed my teaching methods, I found that I was using a selection of classroom management techniques that I had tailored for supply teaching combined with conflict management techniques.”

Raka was born in Huyton, Liverpool in 1968. She studied at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine and gained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, she also gained an MSc in Information Systems Engineering at South Bank University spending six years in the IT industry as an IT Trainer/Business Analyst.

After a career break to have two beautiful daughters, she re-trained as a secondary school teacher in 2002 and gained a P.G.C.E. in IT from the West Midlands Consortium. After which she taught Information Communication Technology and Business in Merseyside secondary schools. Raka switched to working as a supply teacher in December 2004 when she started Raka Ghaderi Consulting.

She is currently writing her second book on the subject of anger management in the classroom and spends the majority of her working life providing workshops for supply and newly qualified teachers on classroom management techniques

Raka has worked with organisations such as the NUT, ATL, and private supply agencies.

Raka’s ultimate business objective is empowering teachers andn youth workers to get the respect they deserve. She believes that through her approach she can stop teachers leaving the profession due to work related stress and low moral caused by continuous disruption in classes and perceived lack of support for teachers. The same issues also affect youth workers dealing with young people in other environments. The main outlets for her approach are courses and seminars based on her successful books.
